Describe a typical workday:

On a typical work day, I ride my bike in to work and take advantage of ARC’s gym or yoga classes. Once I am at my desk, I review my calendar and inbox for anything requiring urgent action with regards to our data products in production or the day’s meetings. Mid-morning, we have stand-up meetings where we cover the progression of our current data projects. For the remainder of the day, I’ll follow up on any meeting action items, planning our future data projects, collaborate with colleagues on current data analysis projects, as well as evaluate possible tools, projects, and partnerships around industry that may be applicable to ARC.

Proudest accomplishment both in and outside of work:

I am most proud of an accomplishment that occurred early on in my career. I was part of a production team that put together an amazing optimization program with some new innovative ideas for the year. These opportunities helped keep production at our facilities flat, despite no drilling activity occurring. The program also included a large amount of data collection to find these opportunities – this is likely where my passion for data analytics began.

As for accomplishments outside of work, any time I succeed in something new you will see me grinning from ear to ear. That will range from repairing bikes and ovens, to trouble shooting family tech issues.

Favourite things about working at ARC:

I like our flexible work schedule, health benefits, monthly flex days, long-term incentives, office amenities, and socializing opportunities such as ARC in the Parc and monthly mingles. Above all, I enjoy working on collaborative, creative, and hardworking teams that foster an environment of trust and growth.

Learning and development opportunities:

I’ve had many valuable opportunities with ARC, including the focus on spending time in the field for hands-on experience; our mentorship program, both as a mentor and a mentee; attending conferences; and encouragement from leadership to complete courses of interest.

Thoughts on the future of the industry as it relates to your field:

As more data becomes available to the industry, it will be crucial to empower all users to utilize this data in their day-to-day operations. However, with that arises new challenges in ensuring data is easily accessible and that users are data-literate.

Describe ARC's culture:

ARC’s work culture empowers employees to think outside-the-box and take initiative.
