ARC Kicks-off 27th Annual United Way Campaign

Today, employees, community partners and friends of ARC gathered to kickoff our 2022 United Way Campaign. This year’s campaign marks the 27th consecutive year ARC has supported the United Way.

At the kick-off, ARC employees heard from United Way of Calgary and Area’s President and CEO, Karen Young about the most prevalent challenges currently facing our community and the impact funds raised makes in addressing them.

“United Way considers ARC a true partner and a leader. Your involvement and generosity are creating a better tomorrow for our city by surrounding individuals with access to opportunity and supports they need to thrive,” said Young. “Thank you for investing in the community we live in. We’re looking forward to seeing how the wonderful people of ARC come together for another fantastic campaign.”

This year, ARC’s Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Lara Conrad has stepped up to serve as the 2022 United Way of Calgary and Area Campaign Co-chair, in addition to help lead the giving campaign at ARC.

“Our annual United Way campaign is an important part of our community giving program,” said Conrad. “Through employee donations and ARC’s corporate match, we amplify our impact. We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the United Way and in doing so, support so many local organizations making a difference in our community.”

A strong and lasting partnership

Over the past 26 years, ARC and our employees have donated more than $11 million to the United Way, supporting hundreds of local agencies in Calgary and area. Funds raised have supported a wide variety of programs and services including those that:

  • ensure individuals and families have access to basic needs
  • provide supports for good mental health
  • establish inclusive communities
  • work to prevent domestic violence and those impacted by it
  • support kids from early childhood to young adulthood, including helping youth complete high school

Giving back and igniting team spirit

ARC employees are in for an exciting two-week campaign planned by a cross-functional employee-led committee. Under the banner of this year’s campaign theme “Game Changers”, employees and leaders alike will be rolling up their sleeves to compete head-to-head in friendly fundraising games including ARC’s version of Name That Tune, Mini Golf, Bingo and more.

The campaign includes opportunities to hear from community organizations on the current needs in the community, the services they provide, and the impact every dollar raised makes.
