$525,000 raised through ARC campaign for United Way

After an exciting two weeks packed with fundraising, volunteering and fun – this year, ARC’s United Way of Calgary and Area campaign raised more than $525,000. Our 28th annual campaign featured engaging events and volunteer opportunities, which provided many opportunities for our employees to give back to the community while strengthening their connections with colleagues.

Campaign Highlights

Some of the highlights of this year’s campaign included watching ARC executives take the stage to battle it out in a friendly, and slightly competitive, game of “Family Feud” with a $10,000 donation going to both team’s charities of choice –CUPS and Hull Services. Employees also teamed up to test their memory in a challenging game of “Name that Tune” and filled two bins with non-perishable donations to the Veteran’s Association Food Bank. In addition to fun games, our people volunteered their time at our Days of Caring with United Way partner agencies – the Children’s Cottage Society and Women in Need Society.

We want to extend a big thank you to Planet Youth Calgary, The Distress Centre and Calgary Seniors Resource Society for joining us this year to share your impact stories with us. They always drive home the true impact of the dollars raised each year in our community. To share just how far that impact goes, our Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Lara Conrad and ARC’s United Way campaign committee member, Andrea Watters sat down with the United Way to share why they get involved year after year: Why ARC Resources Chooses United Way – United Way of Calgary and Area.

ARC’s work with United Way

Over the last 27 years, ARC has partnered with United Way of Calgary and Area to contribute more than $12 million to the local community and it’s a campaign we look forward to each year. This year, in addition to the campaign, ARC announced a $1.5 million dollar investment as a founding sponsor of Planet Youth Calgary through United Way. It’s long-term partnerships like these that are the heart of community giving program.
