Giving food, funds and time: ARC donates $435,000 to local food banks in 2022

Over the course of our 26-year history, food insecurity has been a cause our people and our company have been passionate about. To demonstrate our continued commitment, this morning, our President and CEO, Terry Anderson, announced a $200,000 donation to the Calgary Food Bank. With this donation, in 2022 ARC’s total donations to food banks in communities near our operations totalled approximately $435,000.

Long-term impact with long-term partners

At the heart of our giving efforts, we strive to make long-term impacts through strong, long-term partnerships. Our partnership with the Calgary Food Bank is one of our longest, dating back to ARC’s early days in 1996.

Over the years, ARC has supported the Calgary Food Bank through both corporate and employee donations, and with regular volunteerism. In fact, ARC employees have volunteered at the Calgary Food Bank every month for the past 20 years.

Giving where we live and work

In addition to the Calgary Food Bank, ARC also supports local food banks in Dawson Creek, BC and Grande Prairie, Alberta – the communities near our operations. This has included supporting food bank-run school programs that ensure underprivileged children receive access to packed and hot lunches.

This year, ARC also supported the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary to help serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and the surrounding area. Dollars donated directly support veterans who have served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces and Reserves, as well as first responders.

“Food insecurity is something no person or family should have to face. Throughout the year and especially during the holiday season, the Food Bank gives hope and support to so many vulnerable people in our community. We’re proud to partner with food banks in the communities where we operate to help tackle this critical issue.”
